Welcome to California Yoga Center

We offer yoga classes and workshops for all ages and abilities, with studios in Mountain View and Palo Alto. Our dedicated instructors have extensive training and many years of teaching experience.

Yoga in the Iyengar tradition emphasizes a balance between strength and flexibility, builds endurance, and develops self-awareness through precision in movement and attention to subtle aspects of posture and breath, mind and spirit.

Featured Instructors: Lily Anne Hillis & Elise Miller

Lisa Brill Robinson

Lily Anne Hillis has a schedule change. She is discontinuing her Thursday noon class in May. Her Friday noon Level 1 & 2 class will now be 90 minutes.

Lily continues to teach her joyful classes in Palo Alto at 6:30 a.m. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays; Saturdays at 9 a.m.; and Sundays at 4:30 pm. Always one for celebrating, you'll also find Lily teaching our holiday classes in Palo Alto. Practice the yoga of peace, love and fun with Lily.

 

Elise Miller, a senior certified Iyengar teacher, will be teaching an extra Level 2 & 3 class in May on Wednesdays, 7:30-9:00 p.m. in Mountain View. Take advantage of her expanded schedule, and her wonderfully insightful and informed teaching.

Elise also teaches in Mountain View on Mondays, Level 3 & 4 from 7:25-9:30 p.m.; Tuesdays, Level 2 & 3 from 8:30-10:00 a.m.; Tuesdays, Back Care from 10:15-11:45 a.m.; Wednesdays, Back Care from 5:45-7:15 p.m. Her Palo Alto classes are on Thursdays: Back Care from 8;30-10:00 a.m. and Level 2 & 3 from 10:15-11:45 a.m.

Pilates for Yoga with Ann Merlo
Workshop focus on moving from the core, elongating spines and opening and bringing the back into yoga poses applying Pilates fundamentals.

June 14
Introduction to Yoga with Ann Merlo
This session is for beginners or anyone new to Iyengar Yoga. Learn core poses and why the breath is so important.

Starts June 19
Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction with Janetti Marotta
This seven-week course is designed to reduce stress, anxiety and promote a better quality of life, this program provides training in breathing, mindfulness meditation, body scan with muscle relaxation, and gentle yoga stretching exercises.

June 28
Restorative Yoga with Denise Wendler
The focus is on supported poses and breathwork to slow down the nervous system and regenerate and refresh the spirit on a deeper level.
