Restorative Yoga with Denise Wendler
Saturday, June 27 in Mountain View from 1:00-3:00 pm

Restorative yoga features a series of special stress-relieving poses using support so the body can completely relax. With support, each pose can be held longer to slow down the nervous system and regenerate and refresh the body, mind and spirit on a deeper level. This class is suitable for all levels.

Yoga for Teens
Four-week series starts Tuesday, July 7 in Palo Alto from 12 to 1 pm

This beginning yoga series will introduce yoga poses, breathing and philosophy. Yoga benefits mind, body and spirit. It can help teens with increased overall fitness, health and vitality, improved concentration, and a greater sense of peace and well-being.

Pre-registration encouraged. Class minimum is 8 students; maximum 15 students. Series fee is $60; drop-ins $17.

Introduction to Pranayama with Elise Miller
Four-week series starts Wednesday, July 8 in Mountain View from 7:30-9:00 pm

This series is designed to introduce yoga students to Pranayama, the art and science of breathing. The breath is the link between body and mind. Breath awareness through the techniques of Pranayama, one of the eight limbs of Pantanjali’s yoga, is vital in the process to quiet the mind. In this workshop students will work on breathing awareness and basic techniques of pranayama. Series is open to students with at least six months of yoga experience. Series fee is $80.

Back Bends with Elise Miller
Saturday, July 18 in Mountain View from 1:00-4:00 pm

Explore back bending asanas with Elise. She will prepare and instruct students in a back bend practice building to intermediate back bending asanas. This workshop is for students who have taken at least one year of yoga and can straighten arms in Urdhva Dhanurasana.

Yoga & Meditation with Faranak Parsinejad
Four-week series starts Wednesday, August 5 in Mountain View from 7:30-9:00 pm

This series introduces foundation level yoga poses, principles of movement and alignment, yoga philosophy, relaxation, breathing techniques, and meditation. Each week, we build upon the previous week. The needs of each individual are addressed and respected. Class minimum is 8 students. Series fee is $65.

Restorative Yoga with Faranak Parsinejad
Saturday, August 8 in Mountain View from 1:00-3:00 pm

Restorative yoga can be heavenly. A restorative sequence of poses will leave you feeling nourished and well-rested. These postures are usually deeply supported by blankets, blocks, or other props and are held for several minutes at a time. The more fully the body is supported, the deeper the sense of relaxation and surrender. Restorative yoga offers an opportunity to linger quietly for a few moments and savor the simple sweetness of life.

This class is suitable for all levels. Fee is $35 in advance; $45 at the door.

Introduction to Yoga with Candy Emory
Four-week series starts Saturday, August 8 in Palo Alto from 12:30-1:45 pm

Experience how yoga strengthens and stretches the body and quiets the mind. This session is for beginners or anyone new to Iyengar Yoga. Explore yoga in a comfortable and safe environment, learn core poses and why the breath is so important. Parking available at Webster Street Public garage directly behind CYC Palo Alto. Fee is $65 for series.

Yoga for Scoliosis-Part 2 with Elise Miller
August 28-30 in Mountain View
Friday, August 28, 7:15-9:15 pm
Saturday, August 29, 1:00-5:00 pm
Sunday, August 30, 1:15-5:15 pm

This workshop is open to anyone who is currently a yoga student and familiar with the basic poses to address their scoliosis. Teachers who have students with scoliosis are also welcome. If teachers have completed the ten hour Yoga for Scoliosis-Part I workshop with Elise, this Part II ten hour workshop will complete the 20 hour course requirement to become a Yoga for Scoliosis Trainer.

The Friday session is a review of the basic poses recommended for scoliosis. The Saturday and Sunday sessions will emphasize beginning and more advanced standing poses, back strengtheners and backbends, inversions and twists. Adjustments and props will be used to assist participants to work with their own scoliosis. Teachers are invited to bring their students with scoliosis so that both will have the opportunity to work together under Elises's guidance.

Full workshop fee: $230
Friday: $50
Saturday or Sunday: $100

To pre-register for any of our workshops, mail or drop off your check to California Yoga Center. Checks for all workshops are made out to CYC. Please put the workshop name and date on your check.

CYC refund policy: No refunds one week prior to the event. For early cancellations, full refund less 15% of workshop fee or ten dollars whichever is greater.
